Our Story

Antley Fowler was attending seminary in 2005 when he got an invitation from a friend to visit a church in London that was having a powerful impact in their community. By the end of his visit, Antley was confident that he wanted to be a part of this church someday. Looking over the congregation, he saw a variety of people from all different races and socioeconomic classes worshipping together and thought, "Wow, this is what heaven will look like"! The pastor of the church pulled him aside and began to tell him the story of a group of people that had been praying for two years for someone that would lead a church like this in Jacksonville. Through an amazing chain of events during the next two months, it became clear to Antley and his family that God was calling him to lead this new church. After six months of training at St. Mary’s Church in London, Antley and his family returned to Jacksonville where River City Church was started in the fall of 2005.

Our Values

Intimacy with the Father. The more we pursue and enjoy an intimate and loving relationship with God, the more we will become who God has created us to be.

Ministry in the Power of the Holy Spirit. God is living and active in our lives. His Spirit brings new life, healing, and restoration to us, so that we can be empowered to love and minister to others.

Evangelism. We want to love people like Jesus loves them - regardless of age, race, gender, or what they've done or haven't done. We are all hurting, broken people who need God's healing power.

Ministry to the Poor. We believe that God is about restoring hearts as well as lives, and we are committed to seeing him bring tangible change in Jacksonville and beyond.

Our Church Plant
