Serve
At River City Church, we use the terms Connect//Grow//Serve to describe the pathway of spiritual growth, faith, and healing that God often brings us along.
Serving is a great way to show God’s love to others and to demonstrate the attitude that Jesus modeled when he walked on earth. God created each of us with specific talents and gifts to use in impacting others. Our goal is to provide a place for you to discover who it is that God created you to be, and allow him to use you to bring his love and healing to Jacksonville and beyond.
River City Church
There are many opportunities to use your unique gifts and talents within the church, including Children & Youth Ministry, the Worship team, Media & Communications, and more. Click here to let us know about your interest in serving. We also have a Meal Ministry to provide meals to families in need, as well as Rethreaded, a ministry that empowers individuals negatively affected by the sex trade.
Hollybrook
River City is very involved with the North Riverside community of Hollybrook. We have come alongside the families there to share our lives and the journey of faith together with them. There are many opportunities to participate in community life there, including our monthly Birthday Parties, the Share Shop, the IMPACT mentoring program, and more. For more info about our ministry in Hollybrook, please email Craig Curell.
Lackawanna
Right next door to Hollybrook is the Lackawanna neighborhood. Each Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. we have the Street Corner ministry, where we open the "White House" (map) to the local residents to come and pick up donated goods (groceries, toiletries, etc) and/or to receive prayer. We follow this up with a Prayer Walk in the neighborhood. In addition, River City Clinic is a free medical clinic that is open to low income adults without insurance. It is open from 12-4 pm every Saturday. For more info about our ministry in Lackawanna, please email Craig Curell.
Overseas
River City Church has developed long-term relationships with other churches in Cuba and Costa Rica. We regularly take various groups on trips overseas as a way to not only serve our friends in those countries, but also to receive from them. It has been amazing to see how God continues to grow and shape the people on both sides of these missions trips. For more info about overseas missions, please email Craig Curell.
“And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal." Luke 9:1-2
