Connect
At River City Church, we use the terms Connect//Grow//Serve to describe the pathway of spiritual growth, faith, and healing that God often brings us along.
It all starts with Connect. Here are some of the ways that we encourage connecting to God and to each another.
Worship Services
Every Sunday at 9 & 11 a.m. we have an informal worship service for the whole family. You could describe us as “irreligious” but not irreverent. We believe church should be fun, and at the same time it should be a place where the relevance, power, and holiness of Jesus are taken seriously. The result is a diverse and exciting church whose members are full of passion for God and who demonstrate faith throughout the week.
What's it like?
First of all, feel free to dress however you'd like. We don’t want you to feel like you have to put on a mask when you come to church. Our services consist of three main elements: 1) Worship: the band leads us in an extended time of contemporary worship. 2) Word: a brief talk is given in which we hear relevant and practical teaching from the Bible. 3) Ministry: the service typically closes with a time of ministry, where an opportunity is given to come forward to receive prayer if you'd like.
What about my kids?
Kids are a huge blessing in our church family. Please take your children (ages 0 to 5th grade) directly to the River City Kids area when you arrive, towards the back left of the building. Middle schoolers and high schoolers can go to the regular worship service, however middle schoolers are dismissed to their own room just before the talk is given. For more information about these ministries, take a look at the River City Kids and River City Youth pages.
Where are you located?
Our services are at 7950 Belfort Parkway, Jacksonville FL 32256. You can view a map here.
Prayer Ministry
Our prayer ministry exists to help us experience God's love so that he can bring healing and restoration to our hearts and our lives. At the end of most of our services an opportunity is given to come forward and receive prayer. We also have a Soaking Prayer ministry that meets regularly to spend time "soaking" in God's presence. For more information about our prayer ministry, including how to receive prayer or become a prayer minister, please email Martha Paulk.
